The inspiration for the bread theme comes from the harvesting of the wheat 50 years back: the rough fields, freshly cut down by the countryfolk with their scythes, the piles of wheat stacked up here and there… and above all the light, so blindingly, searingly hot that it burned the grass…the decision to write rhymes and poetry of yesteryear on the theme was dictated by a desire to bring dignity and value to a principle no human being should ever forget: humility.
